Have you ever wondered...

Niagara's edge. So, dear blog, what shall I write about today?

How about... have you ever wondered....

Have you ever wondered, when people shoot guns into the air (for joy, or anger, or protest or whatever), where do the bullets end up? Do they come back down again with enough speed to kill someone?

Have you ever wondered about the colours you see? Like, I know that a certain group of shades are ones that I would call "red", there's another group called "green" etc - but how do I know if the colour I see when I see red, or green, or blue, or yellow is the same colour that you see?

Have you ever wondered what cats dream about? Winnie and Bailey both do major twitching in their sleep - which I'm choosing to assume is their dreaming (REM) sleep - so I wonder what they see in their dreams. Chasing mice, perhaps?

Have you ever wondered, when you look up at the stars at night, if there's anyone else out there? My dad once told me there were so many stars in the sky that statistically there have to be other inhabitable planets in the universe. Wonder if we'll get to meet them anytime soon?

Have you ever wondered (thinking about starry nights) if there's a one-and-only soulmate for each of us? Or are there many? What if you've met your soulmate and didn't realise until it was too late? What if you never meet them? What if there isn't a soulmate for you?

Have you ever wondered...?

Well, if you'd been watching MythBusters last night instead of blogging then you'd know! If the bullet is fired straight up then it will come down on its side at its terminal velocity, which will not kill you or even pierce your skin. However if the bullet is fired up at an angle then it will travel at the speed of a bullet and could do some damage wherever it lands.

There is only one known arrest and conviction where a man shot up at an angle and killed a woman one mile away.

So thats one less thing for you to wonder ;)

well now - how funny is that? I really should have been watching MythBusters, shouldn't I?

So now I know... thanks, Steve!

Anyone else got the answers to my other questions?

The answer is YES

I have wondered about most of these things.

Cats dream about cats rather than mice.

There are probably more inhabited planets in the sky then we ever imagined. Life happens.

The colours I see are my own personal secret. Colours do exist, but our perceptions have many variables.

Shooting guns skyward is like Russian Roulette. It seemss fun until someone gets hurt.

Love your blog.
