I honestly cannot fathom women (I...This is SO true. I honestly cannot fathom women (I being a woman) who threaten to vote for McCain in Nov. because Hillary didn't get the nomination. Some even threaten to vote for McCain even if Hillary is Obama's V.P., they have so little faith in Barack, his grace and vision, faith in people, patriotism and willingness to serve. I don't get how they place so much value in the "experience" argument, when cases can be shown for "experienced" candidates getting caught up in scandal or corruption, and some "inexperienced" candidates (not bringing in their egos) really being able to make a difference, due to their enormous vision and ability to implement it (motivate to action/put into law). I guess these souls are so rare that everyone is a skeptic where they are concerned. I'm being generous to call it mere skepticism. I can think of another reason why many white women not over the loss of Clinton, would defect to McCain from Obama. Obama would bring their sons home from the Iraqi War, improve their job situations, believes in equal pay for equal work, would give them better healthcare, is pro-choice, is married to a strong, smart woman, and is also a Democrat with similar policy platform as Hillary, etc. McCain is a Republican who wants to continue occupation of Iraq, believes women make less money than men because they're not as well educated, wants to appoint justices to the United States Supreme Court who could overturn Roe v. Wade, knows nothing about the economy, and married a woman young enough to be his daughter - an heiress that he married about a month after his divorce was final from his ex-wife, a first wife upon whom he cheated, who had a car accident while he was in service, gained weight and had to go on crutches, whom he, upon returning home from service, then saw as undesirable, promptly divorced, and called her a c*nt in public earshot. These two (Obama and McCain) are as different as night and day when it comes to women. They're as different as night and day in appearance as well, and not just young, tall, and short/stodgy and old either. Some of these disaffected Clintonistas seem to be willing to vote against their own self interests, to cut off their noses to spite their own faces, for identity allegiance. Their first choice was to the one who most favored them; apparently their second may be to the one who favors them next, and last choice, the one who favors them the least. So sad that the candidate who wishes to transcend race and unite would bring out racism to an ugly head.sweeterthanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08135812195880724214noreply@blogger.com
